Welcome back to another #WealthyWednesday instalment.

Today, I’m going to be talking through something many of my clients have been battling with since the world went crazy.

Plus, I’ll be sharing with you a super powerful way to overcome the guilt about selling so that you can effectively serve your audience and support your family financially.

Selling when you’re a healer is hard enough without throwing a pandemic and global crisis into the mix.

The problem is that just because the world has gone crazy, it doesn't mean the people you serve have all been magically healed.

It can be argued that it is your duty, now more than ever to serve.

But here's the thing...

Unless you're generating an income from your product or service then you will quickly go out of business.

Please understand, the idea of selling is something I struggled with for many, many years.

The idea of ‘selling’ used to fill me up with dread, overwhelm me with panic and then leave me feeling as though I’d just scrabbled through a vat of slime…

Somehow it always felt wrong...

I believed that because my service was needed then people would find me and somehow I’d magically have a business.

Unfortunately, this really isn’t how it happens…

You see, while there are many people who need your help not everyone is in the same place.

Some people don’t even know they have a problem even though to you, as the expert it’s as clear as day…

Other people may know that they’re struggling with something but not know you are the person who can help them.

Even more people may know they have a problem and that you can help, but they’re just not sure whether they believe that they have it in them to see the results you’re promising.

This was something I didn’t understand.

It’s called the buying cycle.

Each of our ideal customers are in a different place in their journey and we need to make sure that we are matching their need.

That we are meeting them where they are and letting this guide us to their next step.

I spent years trying to get everyone to work with me 1-2-1.

I fought against creating things like masterclasses, groups and even online programmes.

After all, I trained as a psychologist and believed that in order to help someone struggling with their emotional and mental health they would need my intensive, hands-on support.

But the problem is doing this doesn’t take into account all the different places your perfect customers are in the buying cycle.

It only focuses your message at the people who are in the tiny, tiny one percent of people.

The people who know they’re struggling, know you can help and are ready for you to help them.

The other 99% aren’t there yet.

This severely limits the number of people you can help.

Think of it like this…

There are 100 people in a room with you and your service or product is perfect for every single one of them.

But instead of you taking time to get to know each and every one, instead of you taking the time to share things about yourself so that they can see what type of person you are, what beliefs you hold and whether you are someone who aligns with their values you just give your 60-second elevator pitch.

Out of a possible 100 people you can serve, only 1 person steps forward to be helped.

Great you think, then you move onto the next 100 people and the next 100…

Never spending your time building a relationship with the 297 who could be served by you and instead keep chasing the 1 in 100 who’s ready to go all in right now.

Unfortunately, it’s what many people are telling you to do.

It’s what I thought I had to do.

Please hear me. It isn’t.

If you don’t have a business where you are serving the 1% and the 99% in another 3, 6 or 12 months you will find yourself huddled on the kitchen floor quite literally crying over spilt milk because you are exhausted.

So what do you do instead?

Well, you focus 80% of your business activities on loving the 99%.

There’s something called the Know-Like-Trust factor.

To be honest, in this day and age, like isn’t good enough it needs to be love.

So what does this mean?

Well, it means you have got to help your potential customers get to know you.

You have got to focus on building a relationship with them so that they can learn to love you.

Only when they love you will they ever trust you enough that they’ll invest in themselves.

Did you hear that last part?

They don’t invest in you, they invest in themselves.

Yes, it’s true that your service or product is the thing that facilitates their transformation.

But, in order for them to achieve the results you are promising, they have to believe it’s possible for them.

They have to say yes to taking action.

Now, you might be wondering what this has to do with selling in a time when you’re being pulled to be more giving than ever before.
Well here’s the thing.

The key to the know-love-trust factor is providing support to your ideal customer before they invest in anything life changing.

It’s about giving them subtle hints, juicy bits of information and self-directed action steps so that they can see little glimmers of hope in their current situation.

The only way to do this is by giving away your advice, your help and your support for free.

The only way to do this is by writing a blog, recording a vlog or starting a podcast.

These three things are genuinely the lifeblood of your business...

But the problem is, most people use them all wrong.

We’ve all been led down the garden path into believing that we can write a blog, jump on a livestream or upload a podcast and then poof we’re millionaires.

While this is categorically not true, the millionaire thing doesn't happen.

It just doesn’t happen after you create one blog, record one video or upload one podcast episode.

You have to create a lot.

There are a few reasons for this.

1) Your first few will be shockingly terrible, not just because it’s you, but because everyone’s is...

2) No one is going to read, watch or listen to the first few you make, again not just because it’s you, it’s just the way of things...

3) Your audience probably isn’t going to be big enough to launch either of these and make a million…

4) You’re more than likely not set up to turn your blog, vlog or podcast traffic into cash.

I want you to understand that this is the best news you could ever hear.

It means that you can stop worrying about selling and start focusing on serving.

It means you can decide to tackle one problem your ideal customer faces and simply give them the solution.

Like this post for example.

Your solution to being worried about selling is to produce content.

BUT, know, that in time, this will also lead to sales.

And … if you don’t sell you don’t have a business you have a hobby.

For those of you who are already producing content and giving your audience a wealth of advice without any investment then you can give yourself a quick pat on the back.

But only a quick one mind because I’m going to bet you’re at the stage where you’re spending all your time giving away free advice and are struggling to get anyone to pay you?

You may even be toying with the idea that you should give up producing content altogether because it takes a heck of a lot of effort?

Please don’t.

You’re just ready for the next step.

It’s time you understood how to turn blogs, vlogs and podcast episodes into world-changing, legacy creating, revenue-driving machines on autopilot.

You need to know about how to make your words inspire your perfect customers to take action on the things that you’re sharing.
Fortunately, this is quite a simple process.

It’s just a matter of structuring your content so that it flows the right way.

Unfortunately, it’s not something that I can cover in a few hundred words…

But don’t worry, I’m not going to leave you hanging.

That would be harsh!
