Have you ever heard the quote by Bill Gates "I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it."?

If not, don't worry because now you have ;)

Here's the thing, it's one of the most underrated, yet powerful quotes going when it comes to running your own business.

Most of the time, people focus on super pumped up motivational quotes all designed to get you pumping your fists in the air and shouting out something like 'Yeah it's my time baby'...

The thing is, these style quotes all push you in the wrong direction.

They push you towards the whole 'hustle harder' nonsense which only ever ends up with you hustling yourself into an emotional black hole and a serpent filled financial cesspit. 

Anyways, on Monday, I was doing the #MondayMorningMotivation talk in the Members Club and somehow I found myself repeating this quote.

Followed by explaining that this is me.

Okay, so this is 1/2 of me...

It's weird, I have 50% of me running at 300 miles an hour and the other 50% trying to find the fastest way to do something so that I can get back into my PJs and veg out on the sofa with my knitting...

It's kinda like I'm trapped in a weird Batman film where I'm an action-oriented version of Two-Face... without all the killing #obvs!

But here's the super weird (and 100% counterintuitive) thing I've learned in the last 5 years in business; 'the lazy version of me has more success than the 300mph version'.

I know, it sounds absolutely bat-shit crazy, but I promise you it's true.

Anytime I try to find a shortcut, cheat the system or circumvent the natural order of what you 'should' be doing things work out far better than the times I plan every detail, follow pre-defined systems for success and take my time.

It doesn't matter what it is.

The best thing about the whole 'lazy' side of me is that it pushes me forward faster than the workaholic version and without the emotional kickbacks.

The lazy side of me has me launching before I'm ready, churning out content without checking for spelling mistakes and saying yes to the strangest opportunities all of which magically work out...

So what does this have to do with helping you increase your sales?

Well... back in 2017 while I was knee-deep in every single 'how to build an online business' book, programme and course I was lucky enough to be taking a sales programme which was definitely worth my investment.

Sales School (with Kendrick Shope) not only enabled me to get over my fear of rejection when I was selling so that I could actually sell...

It also opened my eyes to sales formulas.

Sales formulas are kinda like mathematical equations but instead of just helping you figure out missing numbers they enable you to turn your words into cash.

Like most formulas, they're a little annoying when you first start using them.

You may even find yourself fighting to restrain yourself from throwing the laptop out of the nearest window while you're staring at the blank lines that you need to fill in... 

I promise you, once you get it, you'll never again struggle to write curiosity driving cash pumping headlines, expertly clickable social media posts and thoroughly enticing email subject lines.

All of which leads you to easily increasing your sales.

Only kidding!

That would be seriously cruel.

Of course, I'm going to share with you a couple of the formulas I've learned over the past few years.

In fact, I'm going to share the two easiest to master and just so you know, even though they're easy, they are also the most effective.

Easy Peasy Sales Formula #1: 'so that'

This formula is all about helping your customer understand why they want something. 

I know, it sounds weird, but trust me, unless you remind them, they'll never be tipped over the edge from browsing to buying.

Don't believe me?

A worked example:

Say, for example, you haven't had a new customer in the past two weeks and you've just had an unexpected bill come through the letterbox which you have no way to pay.

And say for example I am chatting to you at a network meeting and trying to persuade you that the Members Club has everything you need to get customers fast.

I could say something like: 'You can join The Female Entrepreneur Road Map To Health Wealth & Happiness Members Club 100% free, no credit card required for the next 30-Days. The Members Club has over 3,000 hours worth of video training, we do daily live motivation sessions and weekly Q&A sessions where you can get help on whatever you're struggling with.'

Chances are you're thinking something along the lines of 'there probably is something in those hours which might be helpful...'

Or maybe something along the lines of 'I guess I could always ask at the next Q&A...'

But you're probably not rushing to enter your name and email address and get started.

It's okay, I'm not offended, I wouldn't be either!

Even though it's 100% free for 30-days.

Even though there's live business help every single week.

Even though there are thousands of hours of video training ready to go which chances are has the exact answer you need to get your business pumping out cash faster than a McDonalds does during the lunchtime rush!

It just doesn't set you alight.

However... with a couple of tweaks, we can ramp up the fire.

Instead of the statement above, I could instead say: 

'You can join The Female Entrepreneur Road Map To Health Wealth & Happiness Members Club 100% free, no credit card required for the next 30-Days. The Members Club has over 3,000 hours worth of video training including specific training sessions on how to generate sales fast. 

We also do daily live motivation sessions so that you start your day in the right frame of mind and are not accidentally sabotaging your chances of success by moving forward from a place of fear. 

 There's also weekly Q&A session where you can get help on whatever you're struggling with so that if your specific question hasn't already been answered you'll be walked through the exact steps you need to take to turn your business into a cash pumping machine.'

Do you see the difference between the two?

The first one got you mildly interested but not quite sure if it's going to be relevant for you.

The second one spoke directly to your situation, your difficulties and your unique problem and helped you understand exactly what the Members Club would do for you so that you could succeed in the fastest and easiest way possible.

Next time you're trying to convince someone to buy your thing, make sure you think about how it helps them get the exact results they're looking for with a cheeky little 'so that'.

Easy Peasy Sales Formula #2: 'even if'

Now, the 'even if' formula takes off where the so that formula finishes.

It helps to ease your perfect customer's mind about objections they're having about your product/service before they've had time to think about them.

The idea of actually bringing objections to the forefront might currently have you quivering in your new sales copy wellies convinced you're just about to lose everything but here's the truth...

If you are the one to bring it up it's much easier to wipe away than if they think about it.

Overturning objections is hard.

You do not want to be that icky used car salesperson chasing after your potential customer shouting reasons why they need to buy and if they don't bad things will happen to them...

Instead, you want to be a loving friend easing their worries and showing them that the grass really is greener on your side of the world.

Take the previous beefed up example ... which we now tweak even more by adding the following:

The Members Club has over 3,000 hours worth of video training including specific training sessions on how to generate sales fast even if you are currently so terrified of rejection you tremble at the thought of selling.

We also do daily live motivation sessions so that you start your day in the right frame of mind and are not accidentally sabotaging your chances of success by moving forward from a place of fear even if you can't remember a time where you weren't plagued by non-stop mental anguish, random panic attacks or crippling bouts of exhaustion.  

There's also weekly Q&A session where you can get help on whatever you're struggling with so that if your specific question hasn't already been answered you'll be walked through the exact steps you need to take to turn your business into a cash pumping machine even if you have a bank account so empty you're wondering whether you should deposit the random jar of pennies you have located on a shelf just so you don't have to keep looking at a big fat 0 every time you log into the banking app.'

The most important thing to know about both of these formulae is that you have to know your perfect customer really, really, really well.

If you don't, it won't work. 

So I guess the real question you need to ask yourself now is; do I know my customer well enough to make these two formula work so that I can quickly turn my browsers into buyers?
